To sell used office chairs in Dubai, send a count, photos of each chair type and details of any faults. For a matching batch, photograph representative chairs and separately show the damaged ones. A single photo is not enough if the condition varies across the lot.
You can enquire about one chair or a whole office. Make the quantity clear so a buyer can assess both the furniture and the collection work.
Count chairs by type and condition
Do not start with “around 40 chairs”. Create a simple list: task chairs, executive chairs, visitor seating, meeting chairs and any other type. Then count how many of each are usable, damaged or incomplete.
For example, your inventory could say “18 matching task chairs: 14 functioning normally, two with worn arm pads and two with faulty height adjustment”. This is an inventory example, not a valuation. It gives a buyer more useful information than “18 chairs, good condition”.
Note what you are keeping or offering to staff before requesting the quote. If quantities change later, get the offer updated.
Labels and mechanisms matter
Photograph the label underneath or on the frame if it is accessible. The brand and model help a buyer identify the chair. Do not call a chair ergonomic or a premium model simply because it looks similar to one online.
Check ordinary functions safely:
- Does the seat hold its height under normal use?
- Does the recline mechanism operate and lock where intended?
- Are the arms present and adjustable where applicable?
- Do the wheels roll, and are the base and castors intact?
- Is the mesh torn, upholstery stained or padding damaged?
- Are there visible repairs, cracks or missing controls?
Do not repair a gas lift or structural fault yourself just for the sale. Disclose the issue and let the buyer assess it.
Matching batches can be useful, but do not guarantee a premium
A consistent set may suit another office more easily than mixed chairs. That can help its resale suitability. It does not mean every extra chair increases the price paid for all the others.
The offer still depends on condition, model, demand and collection costs. Do not count a faulty chair as equivalent to a working one. Our office furniture clearance guide explains the wider inventory and collection process.
Keep paperwork and equipment out of the lot
Office chair collections often happen alongside desks and cabinets. Remove files, badges, personal items and devices from the areas being cleared. Identify any IT equipment separately so it does not leave with the furniture by mistake.
Nominate one person to confirm the inventory and payment. If staff have reserved chairs, label those clearly and remove them from the sale list.
Agree access before collection
Ask your building about moving permissions, loading access and lift bookings. Requirements differ between premises. A collection plan for an office in Business Bay may need a different time window from a ground-floor unit elsewhere.
Share the floor, approved hours and total chair count. A buyer should know whether all chairs can be collected together or whether you need staged collection while the office stays open. Our Business Bay office guide covers the questions to raise with management.
Compare the purchase scope
Ask whether the quote includes every chair, only the working ones or a larger office lot. Confirm dismantling if any, loading, payment and any separate removal charges.
You can use the office furniture buying service for a commercial enquiry. If you need documentation for company records, request it before accepting an offer.
Common questions
Can I sell a single office chair?
You can ask. Acceptance depends on the chair and collection arrangement. A private listing may also be practical for an individual piece.
Are chairs without a brand label unsellable?
No. The label helps identification, but usable unbranded seating can still be assessed. Good photos and an accurate condition description matter.
Should I clean all chairs professionally?
Start with a basic clean and an assessment. Do not spend on professional cleaning until you know whether the potential return justifies the cost.
