Straight Talk

What We Cannot Buy — and Why

Appliances are the category where expectations and reality drift furthest apart, so here is our honest position before you spend time arranging a collection.

  • Non-working units. Repair costs in Dubai routinely exceed the resale value of a used appliance, so a faulty unit generally has no value to us.
  • Anything with a gas leak or unsafe wiring. We will not move it. This is a safety line we do not cross regardless of the item value.
  • Very old models. Past roughly seven to eight years, spare parts get difficult and buyers stop asking for them.
  • Rust or water damage. Corrosion on a washing machine drum or fridge casing means it will not resell.
  • Built-in units already damaged during removal. If a built-in oven or hob has been pulled out roughly, the damage usually removes the value. Let us remove it instead.

FAQ

Selling Used Appliances in Dubai — Common Questions

Do you buy appliances that are not working?
Generally no. Resale value comes from the appliance working, so non-functioning units are usually not something we can buy. If an item has a minor fault, tell us what it is and we will judge honestly from there.
How old can an appliance be for you to buy it?
As a rough guide, under seven years for large appliances like fridges and washing machines. Beyond that, demand and parts availability drop off sharply regardless of brand.
Do you buy split AC units?
Yes, if they are in working order. Note that removal of a fitted split unit needs to be done properly — tell us in advance so we bring the right team rather than damaging the wall or the unit.
Should I keep the remote and manuals?
Yes, and it genuinely affects the price. A television with its original remote, or an appliance with its accessories and manual, is worth more than the same unit without them.
Do you buy appliances together with furniture?
Yes, and that is usually the better route. Selling the appliances alongside a full home clearance gets you one figure and one collection instead of arranging several separate buyers.
