Selling a Used Washing Machine in Dubai: A Practical Checklist

Kitchen with a fridge, washing machine and oven

You can ask to sell a used washing machine in Dubai if you describe its condition honestly and arrange safe collection. Send the model, load capacity, approximate age and known faults. Agree who handles disconnection before the pickup is booked.

The key question is not whether the washing machine looks clean. It is whether a buyer can assess its operation and move it without an unexpected technical or access problem.

Gather the details once

Find the model label where it is safely accessible. It may be inside the door area, on the rear or elsewhere on the cabinet. Do not tip or drag a heavy machine just to locate it.

Send the brand, model and capacity. State whether it is a washing machine or a washer-dryer. Include the approximate purchase date if you know it and any service history you can document.

If the appliance belongs to a landlord or company, get the owner’s agreement before offering it for sale. Being the person using it does not necessarily mean it is yours to sell.

Explain how it works today

A buyer needs to know about more than the power light. Mention any error codes, leaking, unusual vibration, drum noise, heating problem or difficulty with draining and spinning.

If the machine is safe to operate, a short recent demonstration can help. Show an ordinary function without staging an unsafe test or overloading it. If you know there is an electrical fault or serious leak, disclose it rather than running the machine for the camera.

Useful photos include:

  • The front and model label.
  • The open drum and door seal.
  • Any visible rust, dents or damage.
  • The inlet and drain arrangement where accessible.
  • Included accessories, such as hoses or the dryer components.

Our guide to used appliances explains why working condition and missing parts affect an assessment.

Leave room for inspection and safe preparation

Do not disconnect the machine before discussing the inspection plan. Equally, do not assume the collection crew will perform plumbing work. Ask who will shut off the supply, disconnect hoses and prepare the machine.

The manufacturer’s manual is the correct place to check transport preparation. Some machines require transit bolts or another method of securing the drum. Say whether you still have these parts so the team can plan.

There is no universal preparation procedure for every model. Follow the manual and use an appropriate technician if the connection or removal work is beyond a simple safe task.

Check the collection route

Send your area, floor, lift details and any building moving restrictions. Mention steps, a narrow utility-room door or an appliance stacked with a dryer.

For a stacked installation, agree how the units will be separated and which stacking parts are included in the sale. For a built-in machine, explain any cabinet work required. These details should be discussed before the crew arrives.

Compare the final amount, including costs

Ask whether the quoted amount is provisional until inspection, whether collection is included and whether technical work is separate. A higher purchase figure may leave you with less if it requires a separate paid disconnection service.

Do not pay for a costly repair solely because you hope it will raise the offer. Get the machine assessed as it stands, then compare a repair estimate against the possible difference.

Common questions

Can I sell a machine with a fault?

You can enquire, but a buyer may decline it or assess it differently. Explain the fault clearly and do not advertise it as fully working.

Does capacity decide the price?

Capacity helps identify the appliance, but does not set a price on its own. Condition, model, age and collection costs also matter.

Can it be collected with a fridge?

Ask for both in the same enquiry and identify each separately. Confirm what is accepted and what the combined arrangement includes.

Send a complete enquiry

Share your model photos with Al Madina, along with any faults, access details and preferred date. A clear enquiry makes it easier to confirm the assessment and collection plan.
