To sell a used fridge in Dubai, share its model, capacity, current condition and collection access before agreeing a price. Arrange any safe demonstration before disconnection, then follow the manufacturer’s instructions for preparing and transporting it.
A shiny front does not tell a buyer whether the fridge cools properly, whether the door seals work or whether drawers are missing. Your enquiry should cover those details.
Start with the model label
Photograph the model label, usually found inside the cabinet or on the appliance, without pulling out a heavy fridge on your own. Include the brand, model, approximate age and capacity if shown.
If you have the receipt, it can help confirm the purchase date. You do not need to invent an age if you inherited the appliance. Say that the age is unknown.
Mention whether it is freestanding or built into cabinetry. Built-in units can require a different removal plan. Also confirm that you own the fridge before offering it for sale, especially in a furnished rental.
Show the condition buyers cannot see from the front
- Open the doors and photograph shelves, drawers and the freezer.
- Show missing handles, cracked trays, dents and damaged seals.
- Disclose cooling problems, leaks, repeated icing or unusual noise.
- Say whether any repairs have been carried out and what you know about them.
- Include width, height and depth for a large unit.
For a working appliance, a short video may help show the display and general operation. It does not prove every component is fault-free, so disclose known issues in writing too.

Do not spend money before checking the likely return
A basic clean and finding the missing shelves can help present the fridge accurately. An expensive repair is a different decision.
Ask for an assessment in its current condition first. If you are considering a repair, get the repair cost and ask whether it would meaningfully change the offer. A new component does not restore the whole appliance to new condition.
If the fridge is faulty, describe it as faulty. A buyer may decline it, assess it for repair or recommend a disposal route. Do not assume it automatically has a payable scrap value.
Plan the route out before collection
A side-by-side fridge can be wider than a doorway or too tall for a basement loading route. Share photos of the route and any narrow turn. Mention the floor, service lift and vehicle access.
Ask who handles any cabinet removal, water-line disconnection or door removal if needed. Specialist work should be agreed separately and carried out appropriately. A furniture pickup quote does not automatically include technical installation work.
Confirm your building’s requirements before the date is fixed. Do not leave the fridge in a corridor or beside communal bins while waiting.
Prepare it at the agreed time
Empty food and remove loose personal items. Follow the appliance manual for shutdown, defrosting, draining and transport preparation. Ask the collection team what needs to be ready before arrival.
